SAN FRANCISCO – Arizona State women's golf's Roberta Liti has been named the 2017-18 Pac-12 Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year as announced by the Pac-12 Conference on Thursday. The Pac-12 presents the award in 24 sponsored sports and was established to honor student-athletes that stand out athletically and academically.
 
Liti, hailing from Siena, Italy, has earned a 4.00 cumulative GPA and is double majoring in Management and Business (Sports & Media Studies). Named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team twice and WGCA Academic All-American three times, she was a key contributor in the Sun Devils' 2017 NCAA championship.
 
On the course, Liti has started every contest for Arizona State during her senior season and earned a top-10 finish in the first tournament of the season. In 2017 as a junior, she earned her first collegiate win at the Sun Devils' home tournament, the PING/ASU Invitational.

Since the Pac-12 created the Scholar-Athlete of the Year program in 2007-08, ASU's 33 recipients is second-highest in the conference. Liti becomes the fifth Sun Devil women's golfer to be named following Azahara Munoz (2008-09), Juliana Murcia (2009-10), Giulia Molinaro (2011-12), and Noemi Jimenez (2014-15).
 
The Sun Devils will compete for the 2018 Pac-12 Championship at Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle, Wash. Apr. 22-24.
 
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a senior on track to receive a degree, have a 3.0+ cumulative GPA, participate in 50%+ of scheduled contests, and have recorded one or more years at their institution. Each Pac-12 institution nominates one individual per sport and winners are selected by a committee of Pac-12 staff members.
