"We're getting back on track with competing, especially in the second half," said head coach Courtney Martinez Connor. "We made some changes and it showed in terms of fewer turnovers and on offensive. We're starting to gel again and the second half was certainly proof of that."

Arizona State was aided on offense by freshman midfielder Maddy Hunter and freshman attacker Julia Burns, who each recorded one assist.

After taking over in the crease late in the first half, freshman goalkeeper Sophia Thomas recorded a career high fives saves. Sophomore starter Berkeley Bonneau also saved five of her own .

The Cardinal were led in scoring by freshman attacker Ali Baiocco with five goals.

Next up, the Sun Devils continue their Bay Area road stand with a contest at Cal at noon on Sunday. The game will be broadcast via Cal's dedicated Pac-12 stream.
