TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 8 Arizona State women's golf team will play their second of two weekends in the Phoenix area this weekend, this time on their home course for the 2018 PING/ASU Invitational at ASU Karsten Golf Course (1125 E Rio Salado Pkwy. Tempe, AZ 85281).
The 14-team field will play the par-72 course over three days (Mar. 23-25), starting at 8 am on Friday and Saturday and 7:30 am on Sunday (note: Arizona is MST which, this time of year, is equivalent to PDT).
The No. 8 Sun Devils will host No. 15 Arizona, No. 16 Washington, No. 17 Oklahoma State, No. 18 Colorado, as well as Denver, Fresno State, Georgia, Iowa, New Mexico, Oregon, TCU, UNLV, and Washington State.
Arizona State won their record-20th title in the 45th year of the tournament in 2017 behind individual medalist Roberta Liti who put together the lowest three-round total of her career. Liti marked the 17th individual medalist in the tournament's history for ASU.
Last year, as a team, the Sun Devils also matched the program record for low team 18-hole scores vs. par (273/-15) while they set a new program and tournament record for low team 54-hole scores vs. par (839/-25), bettering the old program record by three strokes (-22). ASU tied this team mark earlier this season at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship in Franklin, Tenn. (Sept. 15-17).
