COLUMBUS –
On day three of the 2018 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving National Championships, Silja Kansakoski earned All-America honors for the 100 Breast, the second such honor of her career after earning Honorable Mention in 2017.

The Devils opened up Friday morning with the 400 IM, entering two swimmers into the event. Chloe Isleta and Marlies Ross represented the Maroon and Gold, with Isleta placing 33 and Ross 41.

Kansakoski followed a few events later in the 100 Breast, dazzling in the event to a seventh-place finish. Her speedy 59.34s time secured her a trip to the finals later that evening, and was also good enough for the eighth-best finish in ASU history, giving Kansakoski possession of nine of the top 10 times in program history.

Having nine out of the top 10 times in program history isn't bad for a sophomore, right? ??

Silja swam a 59.34 in the prelims today, good for 8th in ASU history!

The sophomore spent the evening in the 100 Breast finals where she placed sixth to secure First-Team All-America honors, the second Sun Devil to do so this weekend. She joins Frida Kaellgren who earned the honor in the 1M Dive. Kansakoski earned an honorable mention in the same event last year as well.

ASU also had two divers qualify for events today, entering Ashley McCool and Kaellgren for the 3M Dive. Kaellgren took the board after a seventh-place finish in the 1M Dive finals last night. Both wrapped up their weekends today, with McCool placing 33 and Kaellgren not far behind at 37 this afternoon.

Throwback to last night ??
