TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil women's basketball sophomore forward Jamie Ruden was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® VIII Second Team, according to an announcement by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
A member of ASU's Barrett Honors College, Ruden maintains a perfect 4.00 GPA and is pursuing a degree in Psychology.
Ruden has scored in double figures in half of the 26 games she has played in this season. Ruden, who posted career highs of 19 points and six rebounds in a win over Idaho earlier this season, currently leads ASU in 3-point FG percentage (42.9), is second on the team in 3-point FGs and fourth in field goal percentage (47.7) and scoring (9.5 ppg). Most recently, Ruden scored 12 points in both of ASU's wins over Arizona last week.
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.
