TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State University football student-athlete, Tashon Smallwood, will be honored for his excellence in academics at the 37th Annual Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet hosted by the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the National Football Foundation on Saturday, March 24.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort and Villas, located at 6333 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. A reception, silent auction, and raffle will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the awards ceremony and dinner slated for 7 p.m.

Smallwood will be a part of a group of 38 student-athletes representing 258,000 students from Arizona's 186 high schools, three universities, and five junior colleges. Each of the honorees will receive a scholarship to further their education.

Smallwood earned honorable mention All-Pacific-12 Conference accolades this season as a defensive lineman and was named to the watch list for the prestigious Wuerffel Award, recognizing the contribution of football student-athletes in their community.
