SAN FRANCISCO – As announced by the Pac-12 Conference office on Wednesday, Arizona State freshman diver Ashley McCool has been named the Pac-12 Women's Diver of the Week for the week of Jan. 15-21, 2018.
McCool won three of four events on the weekend at No. 5 Cal and No. 3 Stanford, setting a new school record in the 3-meter on Friday before re-setting her own record on Saturday (362.20). She not only broke the five-year old ASU record but set a new Stanford pool record in the 3-meter on Saturday. She also won the 1-meter at Stanford on Saturday and finished second in the event at Cal on Friday.
The format of the Pac-12 Swimming & Diving awards was recently changed from a monthly award to a weekly award to better accommodate and recognize the impressive accomplishments and achievements of the conference's swim/dive student-athletes.
As such, this is the first Pac-12 weekly award ASU has received for swim/dive but is the fourth all-time Pac-12 women's diver award given to a Sun Devil.
The Sun Devils return home this weekend vs. No. 2/4 Texas (including the reigning national champion men) this Friday, Jan. 26 at 2 pm MT. The meet will be streamed live for free on ASU's Pac-12 Plus live stream.
Also nominated: Delaney Schnell (Arizona), Phoebe LaMay (Cal), Kassidy Cook (Stanford), Emma Ruchala (Utah)

Dec. 2009 – Elina Eggers
