TEMPE, Ariz.— After a dual at No. 19 North Carolina last weekend, the No. 10 Sun Devils return to the East Coast for the 38th Annual Virginia Duals Friday, Jan. 12-Saturday, Jan. 13.
The Virginia Duals take place at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va. (1000 Coliseum Dr. Hampton, VA 23666).
Tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com for the following prices:
2-day pass: $40 + fees
Friday single session pass: $20 + fees
Saturday 2-session pass: $25 + fees
Saturday second session pass: $16 + fees
The Sun Devils are part of the three-team James River Pool alongside Virginia and Iowa State. Also in the tournament are the following teams:
Hampton River Pool: Campbell, Old Dominion, No. 9 Virginia Tech
Poquoson River Pool: Kent State, Chattanooga, No. 11 Northern Iowa
York River Pool: No. 20 Lock Haven, Fresno State, Oklahoma, Bucknell
ASU will first face Virginia at 11 am ET on Friday before facing Iowa State at 1 pm ET, both on mat 2.
The top team from each of the four pools will advance to the Gold bracket, the second team to the Silver, and the third to the Bronze. (See attached bracket and on page 2 of the notes for full bracket with times).

Last season, ASU took third as a team, marking their best placement since finishing third in 1997 and sixth time finishing in the top four. In the gold bracket, they dropped a semifinal match to then-No. 15 Oklahoma and rebounded with a 20-19 win vs. North Dakota State in the third-place dual. Zahid Valencia was also named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the 2017 Virginia Duals as voted upon by coaches in attendance.

After heading to the Virginia Duals this weekend, the Sun Devils return home for a momentous weekend honoring several special groups including MMA Night on Jan. 19 vs. Stanford (8 pm MT) and the 1988 NCAA Championship Reunion on Jan. 20 vs. Oregon State (1:30 pm MT).

1988 CHAMPIONSHIP REUNION JAN. 20
The 1988 NCAA championship returns to Tempe Jan. 20 and a special reception will take place at Tempe Mission Palms at 4 pm following the 1:30 pm match. The reception will feature appetizers, raffles, a cash bar, and tributes to the storied Sun Devil team.
