TEMPE— Sun Devil Football running back Kalen Ballage has accepted an invitation to compete in the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl, as announced on Monday.
Ballage will be the 57th Sun Devil to compete in the Senior Bowl, and the 10th since 2012. Sun Devil kicker Zane Gonzalez competed in the 2017 game.
Ballage was one of 26 names announced as joining the 2018 roster by the Senior Bowl, and he was the one of three Pac-12 players to accept an invite on Monday, joining Washington State quarterback Luke Falk and offensive lineman Cole Madison.
A Peyton, Colo., native, Ballage is coming off a productive senior campaign that saw him eclipse 657 rushing yards on 153 carries, adding six touchdowns. He also contributed 410 kick return yards and 81 yards receiving. With these marks, Ballage became the 26th Sun Devil to amass 3,000 career all-purpose yards and 29 career touchdowns overall, which is the 10th-most in ASU history.
The Senior Bowl invitation adds to the impressive list of career accolades for the 6-foot-3-inch, 230-pound tailback. Among his accomplishments, Ballage holds the FBS record with eight total touchdowns in a single game. He also has 27 career rushing touchdowns, creeping up on ASU's all-time Top-5 in the category (the threshold being 28 rushing TDs).
