PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Arizona State volleyball team (10-21, 0-19 Pac-12) dropped a tight four-set match to Washington State (17-14, 6-13 Pac-12), 22-25, 15-25, 25-22, 21-25 Wednesday night at Bohler Gym in Pullman, Wash.

"We did not play up to our potential tonight," noted Sun Devil interim head coach Carlos Moreno. "It's apparent we have a good deal of work to do before we head to Tucson on Saturday. Props to Washington State. They played aggressive and at a high level out of the gate and certainly deserved the win."

Senior Oluoma Okaro once again was the star offensively for the Sun Devils. Okaro provided her typical spark to the Arizona State attack, finishing with 15 kills on the evening. Okaro has reached the double-digit kill mark in all but three of the Sun Devil's first 31 games.

Freshman Griere Hughes joined Okaro in hitting the double-digit kill clip, totaling 11 kills. Hughes has continued to build on a solid freshman campaign with double-digit kill efforts in nine of her last eleven, each of those in conference play.

The Sun Devils bounced back after dropping the first two sets by taking set three after limiting Washington State to just a .116 hitting percentage in the set.

Ivana Jeremic contributed with nine kills and Peyton Grahovac had an efficient performance, finishing the night with eight kills while hitting at a .412 clip. Setter Nicole Peterson tallied 34 assists along with seven digs.

Washington State was led by a balanced resulted that featured four different Cougars reaching double figures in kills. Taylor Mims had a match high 24 kills and Ashley Brown finished with 54 assists.

Senior libero Halle Harker totaled 17 digs in the match, giving her double-digit digs in all but one game this year. Her career total moves to 1,998, the third highest mark in school history. Ahead of Harker are Pac-10/12 all-time digs leader Sydney Donahue (2004-07) with 2385, and former Sun Devil standout Stephanie Preach (2010-2013) with 2010.

Up next, Arizona State will close out its 2017 regular season slate on the road, hitting Interstate-17 to take on rival Arizona on Saturday at 7 p.m. MT. The match will be broadcast live via Pac-12 Networks with Daron Sutton and Dain Blanton on the call.
