TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil hockey finally returns home after three, long weekends on the road for a Battle of the Sun Belt with the only other southern program, Alabama Huntsville. Both puck drops are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (AZ) at Oceanside Ice Arena, with Friday serving as Salute to Service night and Saturday being a WHITE OUT.

The series is the first between the two warm-climate programs, and the first of a home-and-home series that takes ASU to Huntsville in 2018-19.

"Coming back home after three-straight weeks on the road has been great," said head coach Greg Powers. "We've had a good, full week of practice that we are looking to have translate into great efforts in both games this weekend."

ASU (1-5-2) wasn't able to capture a win during the six-game road trip, but snagged two ties with one being a captivating shootout win over Nebraska-Omaha, who is currently receiving the second-most votes outside of the USCHO top-20. Every team ASU faced during their trip is either in the top-20 (No. 19 Air Force) or receiving votes in the USCHO poll.

During the six games, the Sun Devils suffered two, one-goal losses to No. 19 Air Force, followed by a loss and overtime tie against Nebraska-Omaha, who was receiving votes. Most recently, they dropped game one against Colgate before coming back with a tie on Saturday.

Their three-series trip took ASU to all three time zones before finally returning home.

Tonight's match-up also features another storyline battle, as two former Muskegon Lumberjack (USHL) goaltenders square off. Sophomore Joey Daccord will meet his predecessor in senior Jordan Uhelski of Huntsville.

Daccord is coming off one of his best collegiate performances, as he posted 47 saves in the 1-1 tie at Colgate. The lone goal was on a ping-pong bounce that was out of the control of Daccord.

While the Sun Devils just finished a long stretch on the road, the Chargers (1-5-0) are in the middle of four-straight road trips to start the 2017-18 season. And they haven't been easy trips. They started the season at then-No. 9 Notre Dame, followed by No. 15 Michigan Tech and most recently at Cornell – who is receiving votes in the USCHO poll.

The Sun Devils' offense will look to revive the high-powered machine that started the season averaging three goals a game. Five players currently lead the team with five points each, in Jakob Stridsberg, Dylan Hollman, Anthony Croston, Louie Rowe and Brett Gruber.

Huntsville features two forwards with three goals and two assists each in Tyler Poulsen and Josh Kestner. Forward Brennan Saulnier is on their heels with two goals and two assists, and joined ASU's Brinson Pasichnuk over the summer at the Montreal Canadiens' prospect camp.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and limited tickets remain. Fans over the age of 21 also have the opportunity to win free seats in the Coors Light Frost Row by arriving at Oceanside Ice Arena before the game. Please view the rules and guidelines on our Facebook Page here.
