TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State beach volleyball team continues its preseason slate this weekend, set to play host to perennial powerhouses, UCLA and USC, on Sunday at Mesquite Beach in Gilbert.
Featuring four professional-grade sand courts, Mesquite Beach is located a quick 15-minute drive from Arizona State's Tempe campus. Admission to both matches is free of charge.
Competition Slate:
- Arizona State vs. UCLA | 8:30 a.m.
- Arizona State vs. USC | 10:30 a.m.
The Sand Devils will kick start the morning slate with a dual with 2017 Pac-12 runner-up UCLA at 8:30 a.m., before taking on reigning National and Pac-12 champion USC at 10:30 a.m.
Arizona State is coming off an impressive 2017 campaign that saw the team net 16 victories, its most in program history. Under the direction of first-year head coach Brad Keenan, the Sand Devils notched two ranked victories on the season, most notably knocking off then No. 6 Arizona, 3-2 in Tucson on Mar. 4. The Sand Devils also garnered national recognition cracking the AVCA collegiate volleyball poll for the first time in team history, appearing in the rankings for five consecutive weeks.
