LOUISVILLE - Arizona State softball saw five current and former student-athletes receive 2016-17 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Randi Farricker, Sashel Palacios, Margret Stahm, Brynley Steele, and Brianna Wise were all recognized for their efforts in the classroom during the 2016-17 academic year.

As a group, the Pac-12 Conference had 30 student-athletes receive All-America recognition from the NFCA, with Arizona, Stanford, UCLA and Utah all having student-athletes earning the honor. 

NCAA Division I led the way with 1,843 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher, while 1,825 in Division III garnered recognition followed by 1,268 Division II student-athletes. High School weighted and High School unweighted posted 751 and 609 honorees apiece. NAIA amassed 559 recipients and Junior College totaled 496.
