SAN DIEGO – Sun Devil senior and No. 67 Kelley Anderson advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Regional Championships Thursday in San Diego..

Anderson got through with a two-set sweep of Hawaii's Nikola Dolakova, 6-2, 6-2.

"I'm happy with the energy and focus Kelley came out with from the first point today," associate head coach Matthew Langley said. "First rounds are never easy, and for her to come away with a straight-sets win should give her confidence going into tomorrow."

It was Anderson's first match of the tournament as she was granted a bye in the first round of 128 women. Dolakova, however had just come off a nice victory over Emma Roenhold of Cal State Northridge.

"Her opponent from Hawaii was a dangerous player with some firepower," Langley said. "Kelley did a great job of neutralizing her at the right times and taking control of the match."

Anderson's round of 32 matchup will be against San Diego's Daniela Morales, who also advanced in straight sets with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Long Beach State's Sadaf Sadeghvaziri.

The two play for a spot in the final 16 Friday morning at 10 a.m. PT.

Results will be available on the University of San Diego and San Diego State athletics websites.
