After one day and two rounds of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational @SunDevilMensGolf sits in fourth place, 11 shots back of host California.
The tournament is hosted by California-Berkeley and takes place at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. The Sun Devils are participating in this event on short notice after the University of Denver cancelled the Paintbrush Invitational due to inclement weather. The effort is part of a title defense, as the Sun Devils won the event last season.
The local teams have put their best golf on display with host Cal leading the pack at 29-under and Santa Clara in third at 20-under. Arizona State came in eleven strokes off the lead at -18. The Bay Area also showed up on the individual leaderboard with K.K. Limbhasut of Cal, Kevin Velo of San Jose State, and Hayden Shieh of Santa Clara taking the top three spots.

Chaplet is four strokes off of the lead in just his third collegiate tournament. He will look to be the second Sun Devil in a row to win individual medal at Alister MacKenzie after senior Ki Taek Li tied for the title last year. Sophomore Chun An Yu is also looking for his first top ten finish of the year currently tied for ninth at -6. Alex del Rey is T-30 fresh off of his victory at the Maui Jim Invitational last month. Mason Andersen (T-41) and Blake Wagoner (T-54) round out the Sun Devil lineup.
