TEMPE, Ariz. -- On Tuesday, freshman goaltender Joey Daccord was named the American Sports Network Player of the Week after his 53-save performance against No. 17 Quinnipiac on Saturday in Hamden, Conn. The Sun Devils pulled the 4-2 upset for the program's biggest NCAA victory to date.

The win -- which included a highlight-reel save in the second period -- was the rookie's second against a ranked opponent this season, as he also helped lead the team to a 5-2 upset over then-No. 18 Air Force on Oct. 16.

The Ottawa Senators' draft pick is 3-7 on the season with a 4.36 goals against and .879 save percentage so far this season. All seven of his losses this season have come against ranked opponents.

The save also earned him a spot on the Pac-12 Network's #12Best Plays of the Week.

The Sun Devils return to the ice this weekend in Kalamazoo, Mich., as they take on No. 9 Western Michigan at 5 p.m. MST on Friday and Saturday night. Both games can be streamed live on NCHC.tv.
