ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Arizona State volleyball team (9-2) defeated Houston Baptist (8-4) in four sets, 25-20, 25-23, 17-25, 25-19, Saturday morning at UT Arlington's College Park Center.

The Sun Devils who improve to 9-2 on the season and extend their current match-winning streak to five, will close play at UT Arlington's Maverick Classic this afternoon, slated to take on tournament-host UT Arlington at 4 p.m. PT. 

Highlighting Arizona State's fifth consecutive victory, was senior, libero Halle Harker who moved into third in Sun Devil program history in career digs, courtesy of a match-best 23-dig outing. Her career tally of 1,613 accounts for the 11th-best in the nation among active players.

Three Sun Devils recorded double-figure kills outings, paced by sophomore, outside hitter Ivana Jeremic who notched a season-best 17 kills, while adding nine digs. Joining Jeremic in the feat were senior Oluoma Okaro (17 kills, nine digs) and freshman Griere Hughes (10 kills). 

Posting her third start on the season, sophomore setter Nicole Peterson helped facilitate a balanced Arizona State attack, posting a career-best 48 assists.

Making not only her collegiate debut, but recording her first Sun Devil start was freshman, middle blocker Megan Beedie, who notched seven kills and three blocks on the outing.
