TEMPE, Ariz. -- With the 2017-18 season quickly approaching, we sat down with each of our nine new faces joining the Sun Devil Hockey program for a quick Q&A.

Freshman forward Gage Mackie may have been a late addition to this year's signees, but his journey to Tempe has been a long time coming. Back in February of 2015 -- before the Devils even took the ice for the first time as an NCAA Division I program -- Mackie committed to ASU and became the youngest commit in the program's early history.

During his first season in the NAHL with Aberdeen Wings in 2016-17, Mackie netted 14 goals and 21 assists while wearing the 'C'. He went on to be named the NAHL Captain of the Year and Leadership Award winner, while also helping the Wings capture the NAHL Central Division.
