Chun An Yu will tee off at 8:15 a.m. PT Thursday in the Round of 32 at the U.S. Amateur, but there is a lot more to it than that.
Yu had to qualify just after dawn in a sudden-death playoff, and then made a great comeback in his round of 64 matchup.
The sophomore Sun Devil was one of 13 players in the playoff for eight spots that took place in the morning, but he quickly advanced with a birdie at the par-4, 327-yard No. 10.

He defeated Lee Hodges in the Round of 64, but it wasn't easy. Chun fell behind by three holes in the first three holes, and was down two holes with just seven holes left. He birdied three of his final seven holes to seal the win. What a day to be alive!Earned a match play ticket though the playoff this morning, and won the match play from 3down to 1up this afternoon.?? pic.twitter.com/OQrwnUxQkk
