COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior diver David Hoffer advanced to the finals in the 3-meter dive at the USA Diving National Championships this week. The finals will take place the evening of Friday, Aug. 11 to close day 12 of competition at the event.
Hoffer finished sixth overall with a score of 352.75 en route to qualifying for Friday night's finals.
With a successful 2016-17 season, Hoffer competed at NCAA's in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard and received Pac-12 Second Team All-Academic honors. He was named the Ward O'Connell Most Valuable Men's Diver as well as Pac-12 Male Diver of the Month for the month of November. He earned three wins in the 1-meter (Oct. 29, Nov. 4, Jan. 21) and three in the 3-meter (Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Jan. 20) as a junior.
Day 12 of competition on Friday includes the men's 3-meter final and the women's 10-meter final. The men's 3-meter final starts at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT, followed by the women's 10-meter. The evening's events will be shown on NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) and the NBC Sports App.
