TEMPE – Arizona State Women's Tennis has named Matt Langley to the position of associate head coach, coach Sheila McInerney announced, Friday.

Langley has served as the Sun Devils' assistant coach since July 1, 2015, and has helped ASU continue its successful run under McInerney.

"Matt is certainly deserving of this promotion as we feel fortunate to have Matt coaching our women's tennis team," McInerney said. "Matt has been an integral part of our team's success the past two seasons. He has a work ethic and passion for college tennis which our student-athletes feel and they have responded to his enthusiasm, knowledge and energy in a positive way. We look forward to continued success with Matt as our associate head coach."

The Sun Devils have advanced to the NCAA Team Championships in each year with Langley on the staff, and has sent an athlete to the individual championships in each season, including Kassidy Jump in 2017 and Desirae Krawczyk in 2016.

"I'm very excited and honored to be given the title of associate head coach," Langley said. "I would like to thank Sheila McInerney, Scottie Graham, Don Bocchi, and Ray Anderson for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the prestigious women's tennis program here at Arizona State. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at this great University and look forward to working alongside Sheila, and with our student-athletes, in making our program one of the nation's very best."

Langley was a member of the Middle Tennessee men's tennis team from 2009-12. He was a two-year co-captain and three-time Sun Belt Conference Champion, earning two Most Outstanding Player honors at the Sun Belt Conference Championships. Langley also recorded three career appearances at the NCAA Championships.
