TEMPE, Ariz. – The reigning Pac-12 champion Arizona State wrestling team announces the signing of Cade Belshay to a National Letter of Intent (NLI).
Belshay won 2017 USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals and a CIF state championship at 220 lbs and is ranked in the top-20 in the nation by InterMat and FloWrestling. He also helped lead Buchanan High School (Clovis, Calif.) to a state championship in 2017 as the team finished No. 2 in the nation.
At ASU, he's projected to compete at 184 or 197 lbs.
He originally committed to the University of Pennsylvania but decided to re-open the decision upon a coaching change for the Quakers.
Also an excellent student, Belshay is a strong candidate for Barrett, the Honors College, at ASU.
The Sun Devil coaches and staff prepare this weekend for the start of camps, with a technique camp June 25-28, two team camps from June 25-28 and June 29-July 2, and an eight-day intensive camp from June 25-July 2.
