TEMPE, Ariz. -- A total of eight Arizona State Women's Water Polo student-athletes earned recognition by the ACWPC in the 2017 Women's All-Academic Awards. Eligible student-athletes were assigned an Outstanding, Superior or Excellent distinction based on their GPA.

Sophomores Maud Koopman, P.J. Allin and Rosie Huck were awarded Outstanding honors, which require a GPA of above a 3.70. All three have now received Outstanding honors in each of the two years since they arrived in Tempe. During the 2017 season, Koopman led the Sun Devils with 13 multi-goal games, five of which she recorded three or more goals. Koopman finished the season third on the team with 41 goals coming in 27 games. Huck came on strong at the end of the season, recording multiple goals in two of the last three matches, including a two-goal performance in the MPSF tournament against CSU Bakersfield. Huck finished the season with 14 goals. Allin provided an offensive spark for ASU on Feb. 11th against UC Davis, recording a hat trick in a 19-9 victory. Allin finished the year with 13 goals for the Sun Devils.

Junior attacker Lena Mihailovic was honored by the ACWPC for the third time in her career, earning Superior honors in 2017, after receiving Outstanding honors her previous year. Also receiving Superior honors, which requires a G.P.A. above 3.40, is freshman Bente Rogge. Mihailovic put together another outstanding campaign leading the Sun Devils to a No. 6 ranking. Mihailovic was second on the team with 45 goals in 27 games. Bente Rogge made an impact in her first season in Tempe. The freshman totaled 30 goals in 26 games, providing another scoring option for the Sun Devils.

Sophomore goalkeepers Sophia Burgess and Ellie Karl along with redshirt-freshman Catherine Simko were awarded with Excellent honors, requiring a GPA at or above a 3.20. Both Sophia Burgess and Ellie Karl saw time in net for the Sun Devils in relief of All-American performer Mia Rycraw. For Simko, it was her second time being recognized by the ACWPC with Excellent honors.
