ORLANDO, Fla. – Head coach Missy Farr-Kaye of the 2017 NCAA national champion Arizona State women's golf team earns additional national coaching honors, named the Golfweek Division I Women's National Coach of the Year.
Â
Farr-Kaye was earlier named National Coach of the Year by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), West Regional Coach of the Year, and Pac-12 Coach of the Year after leading the Sun Devils to a nation-high eighth NCAA championship last month.
Â
The trifecta complete, Farr-Kaye has now won an NCAA title as a player (1990), an assistant coach (2009), and now a head coach (2017). She earned a national championship in 1990 under legendary head coach Linda Vollstedt, the first of six the Sun Devils would win in the 1990's.
Â
Arizona State returns all but one from the national title team in 2017-18, losing NCAA individual medalist, Honda Award winner, and Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Year Monica Vaughn to graduation.
Â
The NCAA recently announced Arizona State will host three consecutive men's and women's Division I golf championships starting in 2020 at Scottsdale's Grayhawk Golf Club.
Â
Oregon's Casey Martin was named Division I Men's Coach of the Year after leading the reigning national champion Ducks back to the title match in 2017.
