Oxford, Miss -- The 22nd- ranked Arizona State softball team fell, 2-0, to No. 13 Ole Miss in their second round game of the 2017 NCAA Oxford Regional Saturday afternoon at Ole Miss Softball Stadium.

Junior Dale Ryndak made the start for the Sun Devils in the circle against the Rebels, providing five scoreless innings where she did not allow a runner to advance past second base, before a pair of triples undid the shutout bid. Ryndak threw a total of 79 pitches in her 13th start of the season, holding the red-hot Rebels to just two runs on six hits in the game.

The Sun Devils were led at the plate by senior catcher Sashel Palcios who went two-for-three, but it wouldn't be enough as the speedy Ole Miss defense was able to hold the Sun Devils off the board behind Kaitlin Lee's 23rd win of the season.

The Sun Devils will be back in action later today in an elimination game against the winner of the Southern Illinois and North Carolina game. First pitch in that game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed on the ESPN family of networks with Eric Collins and Amanda Scarborough on the call.
