TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the women's Division I regional awards on Monday, and senior Kassidy Jump earned the Southwest Region Most Improved Player Award for the 2016-17 season.
Jump, who played her first season on court one for the Devils, holds a 20-13 record in singles and 27-6 doubles record on court three in her final year in the maroon and gold. She qualified for her first NCAA Championship Singles Tournament, which will begin next Wednesday, May 24.
Over the course of her four-year career, Jump has totaled 85 victories thus far, which currently ranks sixth all-time in ASU women's tennis history.
During her senior season, the Granite Bay, California native faced 21 ranked opponents in her 33 matches. She also went toe-to-toe with some of the best in the country, including the No. 1, No. 3, No. 6, and No. 9 players in the country.
Earlier this month, Jump earned All-Pac-12 First Team Honors as well.
This becomes the second-straight season a Sun Devil has earned the ITA Most Improved Player in the Southwest Region, as Desirae Krawczyk captured the award last season.
