TEMPE, Ariz.— Arizona State senior linebacker Koron Crump has been named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List for the 2017 season.

Presented by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, the trophy is presented annually to college football's defensive impact player of the year. Named after Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Ronnie Lott, the trophy is the only one of its kind in college football that equally recognizes athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player.

Crump led the Sun Devils in sacks in 2016 (nine for minus 68 yards) while recording three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.  He added an interception to go along with his 37 tackles (28 solos stops).  Prior to coming to Arizona State, Crump earned all-Region and all-KJCCC honors as a defensive end at Fort Scott Community College.

Crump is of 42 players (Lott's uniform number in the NFL) on the watch list. He is one of 17 linebackers on the list, along with 14 defensive linemen and 11 defensive backs. He is one of nine Pac-12 student-athletes on the list, most of any conference.

The Lott IMPACT trophy is voted on by a panel of selected national media, previous finalists, the Board of Directors of the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation and a distinguished group of former college football head coaches.

In 14 years, the Lott IMPACT Trophy has donated more than $1.3 Million for various charities throughout the country, including $500,000 to universities.

The winner of the Lott IMPACT Trophy will be announced December 10 in Newport Beach, California.
