TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Hockey has added another destination to their 2017-18 schedule, as they'll participate in the sixth annual Three Rivers Classic hosted by Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Penn. on Dec. 29-30, 2017.

The two-day, four-team tournament will be played at PPG Paints Arena, the home of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. The other two participating teams have yet to be announced.

"Our program is thrilled to be a participant in such a great event hosted by a very successful program in Robert Morris," said head coach Greg Powers. "For our guys to get to play in such a tremendous hockey town like Pittsburgh in an NHL venue makes it yet another great opportunity for our young program to gain experience and to get our brand out in the hockey community more."

The tournament falls two weeks after the two-game series at Colorado College, and one week prior to the inaugural Ice Vegas Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev.

The host, Robert Morris University, is the two-time, defending tournament champion, as they defeated Quinnipiac in the championship in 2016 and UMass-Lowell in 2015.

This will officially be the second tournament the Devils will have played in outside of Arizona as an NCAA Division I program, following the 2015 Kendall Hockey Classic in Anchorage, Alaska. The Three Rivers Classic and Ice Vegas Invitational replace the annual Desert Hockey Classic this season.
