PULLMAN, Wash. – The Sun Devil women's tennis team captured their fourth-straight victory on Friday afternoon with a 4-1 win over Washington State at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse.

Four of the top five courts in singles all went into the third set, but the Devils (11-5, 4-2) took care of enough business to clinch the match.

"I was very pleased with the way we competed today and happy to get the road win," said head coach Sheila McInerney. "We knew WSU would be a tough out and they certainly proved to be. Kassidy and Sammi did a great job pulling out very tough three-setters for the team win."

After a tough stretch over the last two matches, No. 83 Nicole Fossa Huergo and Alex Osborne defeated Aneta Miksovska and Victoria Matejevic to clinch the doubles point.

Senior Kassidy Jump and sophomore Sammi Hampton got the Devils started in doubles, earning their seventh-straight doubles victory on court three.

ASU entered into singles with a 1-0 lead, and Fossa Huergo wasted no time on court four. She earned the only straight-set victory, winning 6-3, 6-2 over Matejevic for the 2-0 lead.

The first three-set match ended on court one between Jump – ranked No. 61 in singles – and Barbora Michalkova, with the senior clutching up for a big 7-5 win in the third.

With the 3-0 lead, No. 88 Kelley Anderson was grinding out her match on court three versus Aneta Miksovska. After winning the first 6-1, Anderson dropped the final two in nail-biting fashion, 7-6(5) and 6-4.

Hampton – ranked No. 80 – came to the rescue on court two, rallying to defeat Guzal Yusupova 7-5, 7-5 in the final two sets to clinch the match.

Due to inclement weather outdoors, the match was moved indoors prior to the start. This resulted in only four matches beginning indoors, and Savannah Slaysman and Gussie O'Sullivan waiting in the wings for a match to finish.

Neither of their matches would finish, with Slaysman's match being abandoned in the third set and O'Sullivan's in the first.

The Devils now travel to Seattle for a Pac-12 battle with No. 31 Washington on Sunday, April 9 at 11 a.m. PT.
