Tempe, Ariz. – Arizona State head soccer coach Graham Winkworth announced the addition of Brazilian midfielder Lara Barbieri to the 2017 roster this week.
"I am very excited to add Lara to our squad for this season," Winkworth said. "Lara is capable of playing in the 6,8 or 10 positions which will add some depth and quality to our midfield."
Barbieri, a Monte Mor, Sao Paolo native, played for Associação Atlética Ponte Preta in Brazil as a midfielder.
A graduate of Colégio Monte Mor, Etec Monte Mor, Barbieri also represented Brazil on the U-15 and U-17 national teams. In addition, Barbieri was also a member of Valinhos Futebol feminino and Guarani Futebol Clube.
"Lara is the type of player that likes to get on the ball and make things happen," said Winkworth. "She has experience with both the Brazilian U15 and U17 National Team and will hopefully provide a little flair to our midfield."
