TUCSON, Ariz. – Despite continued windy conditions, the No. 1/5 Sun Devils improved by 15 strokes as a team on day two of the 2017 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships, shooting the third lowest round on the day, one stroke lower than host-Arizona.

"We had conditions today that were just as difficult as yesterday, but we managed the wind so much better," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "This course is tough and the wind makes it even more difficult, but we had a better game plan today and were much better prepared."

Reigning individual medalist Linnea Strom had another solid round (74/+2) to lead Arizona State, now just outside of the top-10 (T11). Sophia Zeeb (T19) is tied with teammate Olivia Mehaffey, who jumped 19 spots with a nine-stroke improvement.

Roberta Liti improved by four strokes (T26) while senior Monica Vaughn leapt 20 spots, improving by 12 strokes with an even-72 on Tuesday.

"We have two more tournaments to go, so we are still taking it one day at a time with what we need to work on. We still left shots out there today and have holes we need to improve upon and if we do that, we'll be just fine."

As a team, the Sun Devils had the third greatest improvement in the field from day one to day two.

"This is a great conference with a lot of highly ranked teams and you can play well and not even be in the top three in the Pac-12, so it's always good for us to keep perspective. We want to play well in our conference championship but I'm just really pleased with how we fought back after yesterday's round."

ASU tees off with Washington between 8:00-8:32 on the third and final day of competition (Wednesday), with Vaughn (8 a.m.) starting the action followed by Liti (8:08 a.m.), Zeeb (8:16 a.m.), Mehaffey (8:24 a.m.), and Strom (8:32 a.m.).
