Manheim, Pa. – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced their All-Academic team and Tanner Hall represents the Sun Devils on the team.
Hall is one of just 35 All-Americans for 2016-17 to also receive All-Academic honors and one of nine honorees from the Pac-12.
Earning a Pac-12 championship at heavyweight, Hall capped the season with a third-place finish at NCAA's, upsetting Duke's Jacob Kasper and Virginia Tech's Ty Walz en route. He had the Sun Devils' sixth fastest pin of the season (55 seconds) and won titles at both Midlands and Daktronics Open.
Academically, Hall earned First Team All-Academic accolades and was recently named a Sun Devil Student-Athlete of the Month. The electrical engineering major is a Barrett Honors College student with a 3.64 GPA, also on track to graduate a semester early.
To qualify for NWCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have completed one full year at their institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better while also winning 60 percent of their total schedule and/or All-American status.
