TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State beach volleyball team (10-14, 1-3 Pac-12) will hit the road for one final road trip of the 2017 regular season, traveling to Northridge, Calif. to take on Concordia University and California State University, Northridge on Friday. The matches will be at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. PT, respectively.
 
ABOUT CONCORDIA-IRVINE
The Eagles are 10-7 on the season, dropping the last four in a row, including three to ASU's Pac-12 rivals, Arizona, Washington and UCLA.
 
ABOUT CSUN
Last week, the Matadors (3-9) fell to two top-10 teams, getting swept by both No. 5 Hawaii and No. 6 Long Beach State. CSUN was not able to win a single set all weekend, but came close in the No. 1 match against Long Beach State, losing 21-16, 22-20. The Matadors will play two additional home matches Thursday against CSU Bakersfield and Cal State LA before facing the Sun Devils Friday.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Sun Devils were in California over the weekend, playing a total four matches, including three at the USAV Collegiate Beach Volleyball tournament Saturday.
 
ASU was swept by the No. 1 USC Trojans Friday evening before concluding the weekend with a 1-2 tournament record to its credit. The Sun Devils garnered a 3-2 victory over Saint Mary's College before dropping duals to No. 1 USC for a second day in a row and Loyola Marymount, both matches finishing 4-1.
 
Against St. Mary's, ASU's No. 1 duo of seniors Bianca Arellano and Whitney Follette posted their team-best 15th win on the season. The No. 2 pair of Madison Berridge and Olumoa Okaro collected a three-set win, 13-21, 21-18, 15-12, while the newly formed No. 5 pair of Natalie Braun and Bethany Wedepohl also posted a three-set victory of their own, 21-15, 17-21, 15-9.
 
THE REST OF THE 2017 CAMPAIGN
The Sun Devils will wrap up its home slate next weekend, hosting matches at the PERA Club against New Mexico and the California Bears on April 21 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. PT, respectively. They will also face the Stanford Cardinal on April 22 at 3 p.m. PT.
 
The team will conclude the 2017 season at the Pac-12 Championship in Tucson, set for Thursday, April 27. The NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships follows on May 5-7 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
