The @SunDevilHoops program has added 6-10 forward De'Quon Lake to its roster, head coach Bobby Hurley announced Wednesday. The Iowa Western Community College product arrived in Iowa from Newport News, Va., and the US Virgin Islands.

"We are excited to welcome De'Quon to the program," says Sun Devil head coach Bobby Hurley, entering his third year at ASU in 2016-17. "He is a rapidly developing forward that will make an immediate impact on our frontcourt. De'Quon's size, explosiveness & ability to rebound & finish around the basket will translate very well to our team right away."

Coached by Michael Johnette, Lake averaged 13.5 points and 7.2 rebounds and shot over 67 percent from the field this past season.

Coming from Saint Thomas in the Virgin Islands, Lake moved to the United States in the eighth grade where he played basketball for Menchville High School in Newport News, Virginia.

In his freshman year at Iowa Western (2015-16) Lake earned NJCAA Region XI honors and he participated last summer in the Jerry Mullen Top-100 JUCO Camp.

He attended Menchville High School and averaged 21.9 points and 11.3 rebounds in his senior year along with five blocks and four assists, earning him all-conference honors. The Monarchs under Ben Moore went 24-9 in Lake's senior season.
