TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State women's tennis team upset #38 Oregon, 4-1, for their third-straight victory on Friday afternoon at Whiteman Tennis Center. The women's program made it 13-straight over the Ducks (10-7, 3-2) and 21-1 overall.

This week, the Sun Devils (10-5, 3-2) started on the right foot in doubles following last week's loss in doubles to Northern Arizona University.

"We basically told the kids you've got to have more energy, you're back in the conference against Oregon," said head coach Sheila McInerney. "I think Oregon's win over USC certainly got their attention.

"We knew Oregon would be tough. They were well-coached, they compete hard. I was really happy for our kids to pull out a tough win."

Junior Kelley Anderson and freshman Savannah Slaysman kicked off the first doubles win, 6-0, against Oregon's Marlou Kluiving and Julia Eshet – who were ranked No. 66 in the country in doubles -- on court two.

Sophomore Sammi Hampton and senior Kassidy Jump secured the doubles sweep and early 1-0 lead with their 6-2 victory against Nia Rose and Rifanty Kahfiani, making it their sixth-straight together on court three.

In singles play, the Sun Devils were strong in their first sets, winning 3 of the 6 by a score of 6-0.

On court three, No. 90 Anderson dominated her singles match, 6-0, 6-1, while No. 63 Hampton won in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6, next door on court two not long after. This put ASU out in front 3-0.

Following Slaysman's loss to Kluiving on court five, No. 65 Jump secured the deciding match, 7-5, 6-3, for an official Sun Devil victory.

"I think the kids were ready to play today and we came out, played well in the doubles and sort of kept the momentum," McInerney said. "Overall, certainly any conference win is a big win and we're happy for the kids for sure."

With Jump's clinch, junior Nicole Fossa-Huergo and senior Gussie O'Sullivan's matches were abandoned on courts four and six, respectively.

Pac-12 play continues next week for the Sun Devils, as they travel to the Pacific Northwest for a two-game set against Washington State on April 7 and No. 35 Washington on April 9.
