TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State head swimming coach Bob Bowman announces the addition of Rachel Stratton-Mills to the Sun Devil coaching staff.

"Hiring Rachel Stratton-Mills is a home run for our program," said Bowman. "Her wealth of experience and excellent track record at the club level, combined with her previous collegiate coaching make her an incredible addition to our staff."

Stratton-Mills has extensive experience both on the coaching and administrative side of swimming at all levels. She served as head coach of Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (2010-15), placing an athlete on the 2012 US Olympic Team, with two other athletes named to the National Junior Team during her tenure.

At the collegiate level, she served as an assistant coach at both Dartmouth College and the University of Maryland, College Park.

"Her coaching skills are proven, having developed a US Olympic Medalist and represented the USA at several international competitions," Bowman said of Stratton-Mills. "We are very excited to welcome Rachel, Glenn, and their daughter Maddy into the Sun Devil family."

Outside of coaching, she also is currently serving as a member of the USA Swimming Rules/Regulations Committee and served on a USA Swimming Safe Sport Task Force, which reviewed Safe Sport Regulations.

"Joining Coach Bowman and the rest of the staff at ASU is an honor and a privilege," said Stratton-Mills. "Throughout this process, I have learned firsthand the commitment to excellence from everyone at this university. From the coaching staff and athletic department, all the way up to President Crow, everyone is working towards the same goal of success both in the pool and the classroom."

Stratton-Mills also understands the dedication and skillset needed to compete at the highest level, earning her Bachelor's of Art in Sociology as a swimming student-athlete at UCLA.

"This program has already seen immense growth over the past two years and I am looking forward to being a part of all that lies ahead for ASU swimming," Stratton-Mills said of her excitement on joining the program.
