TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State women's tennis team returns home after a tough-fought weekend in northern California, as they host No. 42 UNLV and Northern Arizona in two weekday matinee showdowns at Whiteman Tennis Center.

After back-to-back losses to two of the top-ranked teams in the Pac-12 and country, the Devils (7-5, 2-2) return for their home series beginning on Wednesday afternoon versus the Rebels (10-5, 1-0) at 12 p.m. PT.

"The teams we've lost to have all been good and top-15 in the country," said head coach Sheila McInerney. "Playing on the road is always tough, so coming home is always a good thing. We have a tough UNLV team tomorrow, who are really scrappy and beat Washington State handedly, 4-0. They make a lot of balls and make you play. We have to be committed to staying out there a while if need be. We have to play good, solid, tough tennis."

The Sun Devils' five losses this season have come at the hands of No. 2 Ohio State, No. 5 Stanford, No. 9 Texas Tech, No. 12 California and No. 14 Pepperdine.

On the horizon, they have No. 42 UNLV, No. 36 Oregon, No. 38 Washington, No. 40 USC, and No. 19 UCLA.

So far this season, the Devils have yet to lose more than two matches in a row and plan to keep it that way on Wednesday afternoon.

"Jumping" up in the rankings this week is Kassidy Jump on court one, as she moves from No. 97 to No. 65 in the country in singles. The senior continues to show she can hang around with several of the top players in the country.

Teammates Sammi Hampton and Kelley Anderson on courts two and three, respectively, also remain in the ITA singles rankings.

UNLV's Carol Zi Yang is the only Rebel ranked in singles or doubles at No. 27, and will likely oppose Jump on court one on Wednesday.

The Rebels trip to Tempe becomes their first match away from home since the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in late January. They recently took on No. 7 Oklahoma State, No. 30 Florida International and No. 23 Tennessee in Las Vegas, suffering 6-1, 5-2 and 4-1 losses, respectively. They did, however, upset current No. 18 Arkansas in a consolation match at the ITA Kick-Off weekend, 4-1.

On Friday, ASU hosts Northern Arizona in a rescheduled match after a rain out to begin the season. The Lumberjacks (9-3, 4-0) have won nine of their last 10 matches.
