TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State men's and women's Zone E Diving Championships is set to take place at Northern Arizona University's Douglas J. Wall Aquatic Center Mar. 6-8.
The Aquatics and Tennis Complex (Bldg. 86) is located at 821 S. San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86011. Admission is free and live stats will be available on www.divemeets.com.
The NCAA is broken into five zones (A through E) based on location and ASU is part of Zone E.
Based on scores throughout the season, David Hoffer (1m, 3m, Pl), Youssef Selim (1m, 3m, Pl), and Heikki Makikallio (1m, 3m, Pl) on the men's side as well as Mara Aiacoboae (1m, 3m, Pl) and Rebecca Deacon (1m, 3m) on the women's side all qualified for Zone E championships.
Last week, Mara Aiacoboae won the Pac-12 title in women's platform diving, the first ASU conference championship in the event since 2010.
NCAA Qualification
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at their respective zone diving meet are eligible to compete at NCAA's. Additional place finishers in each event at each zone will be eligible based on the number of student-athletes from that zone who finished in the top 16 in that event at the previous year's NCAA championships.
The number of qualifying spots for Zone E are as follows:
Women – 1m (11), 3m (9), Platform (11)
Men – 1m (9), 3m (5), Platform (7)
