Sun Devil Baseball Postpones Series Finale to SundaySun Devil Baseball Postpones Series Finale to Sunday
PHOENIX –  The final game of the series between Sun Devil Baseball and Northwestern has been postponed to Sunday afternoon following substantial rain in the Phoenix area on Saturday.

The two teams will pick up the contest Sunday at 12:30 p.m. MT in the top of the third inning, tied at 1-1. The contest will be streamed live at http://pac-12.com/live/arizona-state-university. Admission to Sunday's game will be free of charge to the public.

Northwestern (0-2) broke open the scoring early on, connecting on a single up the middle to make the score 1-0 in the visitor's half of the first. The Devils (2-0) would respond an inning later when freshman Myles Denson cashed in sophomore Jeremy McCuin who muscled a two-out triple to left center field.

Northwestern led off the top of the third with a leadoff walk, at which point the game was delayed and the tarp was pulled. After approaching two hours of rain delay time, the game was officially postponed to Sunday.

The Sun Devils have already picked the series victory after taking both games in Friday's season opening doubleheader.

Lefty Spencer Van Scoyoc appeared unfazed by the rain that began to downpour in the second inning, as the freshman had solid innings his first career start with three strikeouts. The Iowa-native marked the first true freshman to start on opening weekend since Adam McCreery achieved the feat in 2012.
