TEMPE – Due to forecasted inclement weather in the Valley area this weekend, Sun Devil Baseball has announced a change to the schedule for the team's season-opening series against Northwestern.
With the brunt of the weather expected to come through Phoenix on Saturday, the Devils will play a season opening doubleheader against the Wildcats on Friday, Feb. 17. The first game of the series will now have a first pitch of 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon with the second game following at the previously scheduled Opening Night time of 6:30 p.m.
The two teams will tentatively plan to play the third game of the series at the originally scheduled Saturday time of 1 p.m. Should weather be a factor on Saturday, the teams will play an "if necessary" game on Sunday at the originally scheduled time of 12:30 p.m.
Fans with a ticket to Friday's game will be able to stay for both contests in Friday's doubleheader. Fans with a single game ticket for Saturday or Sunday's game may exchange that ticket for the game they wish to attend this weekend. Those tickets may be exchanged for the doubleheader on Friday or to attend the third game of the series, whenever that ends up being played.
Fans are encouraged to contact the Sun Devil Ticket Office at 480-727-0000 for more information.
Fans with a single-game ticket to Sunday's contest may also exchange that ticket and attend Sun Devil Baseball's tilt against Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m.
All games will still be scheduled to be live streamed via the Pac-12 Networks and available at http://pac-12.com/live/arizona-state-university,
This schedule is currently tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions over the course of the weekend. Fans are encouraged to follow @ASU_Baseball on Twitter for updates throughout the weekend.
