LOS ANGELES – Rounding out their time in the city of angels, the Sun Devil women's swim team competed for the second consecutive day and, despite improvements from Friday's meet, suffered a 162-131 loss to the No. 15 Bruins.
Marlies Ross captured the first Sun Devil win of the day in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.03) followed just behind by Kaya Philapil (1:04.23) in second. Ross would win her second event on the day in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.67) with Philapil in third.
Alysha Bush also won both sprint freestyle events while Claire Fisch rounded out the top three in each of the two events (50 and 100-yard free).
In the final individual event on the day, Ross won her third individual event of the meet followed by Chloe Isleta in the 200-yard IM as the duo went 1-2.
The Sun Devils have just over a week of practice between competitions until the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas (Nov. 17-19) to mark nearly the halfway point of the regular season.
