SAN FRANCISCO—Arizona State volleyball's junior middle blocker Oluoma Okaro was named to the 2016 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention list, the conference announced on Monday.
This season, Okaro led the Sun Devils with 336 kills, averaging 2.80 per set at a team-high clip of .306. She also led ASU from the service line with 39 aces, and at the net with 128 total blocks, 16 solo and 112 assisted. Her 447.0 total points also rank as the highest on the squad.
Okaro set a career high in kills twice this season, most recently in ASU's five-set finale win over rival Arizona where she put up 20 on .472 attacking. She also set a career high with 19 kills in ASU's five-set win over Long Beach State on Sept. 10.
She appears in the ASU record book in attack percentage twice, first when she hit .824 (14K 0E 17TA) against California on Nov. 19. That mark sits at No. 2 all-time for ASU in the rally scoring era. She also has the No. 5 all-time mark with .682 attacking (16K 1E 22TA) in ASU's match against Fairfield on Aug. 26.
Okaro, who came to ASU in 2016 from the University of San Francisco, tied her career high in service aces, six, when the Sun Devils upset then-undefeated Santa Clara in five sets on Sept. 16, and put up a career best 10 block assists in ASU's Pac-12 opener at Arizona on Sept. 21.
The Sun Devils (12-20, 5-15 Pac-12) wrapped the 2016 season with three consecutive home wins: completing the season sweep of Cal (3-0), topping its first and only matchup with Colorado (3-1), and besting rival Arizona on Senior Day (3-2).
