"I am excited that Bella, Denae, Rylee and Gibby will all be wearing a Sun Devil uniform next year," said Ford. "These four are very athletic and come from great families. I cannot wait to get them on the field and start working."
Isabella "Bella" Loomis, INF, Hamilton High School
Loomis, an infielder out of Hamilton High School in Chandler Arizona, looks to add depth to the Sun Devil's defense. Loomis helped lead her team to the Division-1 State Championship in 2015, while also earning All-State first team recognition. the versatile Loomis was just as successful off the diamond at Hamilton, earning a 4.0 or higher GPA each year while in school.
Loomis was drawn to ASU because of the opportunity to compete at a high level near home, while also getting a great education. "Playing for ASU has been a dream of mine," said Loomis. "Having family here makes it even better."
Bella, the daughter of Scott and Giorgie Loomis, has one brother Jake. She enjoys hiking and being with friends and family. She will look to enroll in classes that will help her pursue a career in Athletic Training or Exercise Psychology. Loomis chose ASU over offers from Grand Canyon and Oregon State. Rylee Maston, INF, Paraclete High School
Maston, an infielder out of Paraclete High School in Lancaster, Calif., plays predominately at shortstop and catcher. Maston has earned Athlete of the Year honors following each of her high school seasons. Following her first season at Paraclete, Maston earned Second Team All-League honors, but has since earned First Team recognition in back-to-back seasons including claiming PLayer of the Year honors following the 2015 season.
Maston says she was drawn to ASU because of the family environment. "Arizona State has a unity as a family," said Maston. "Everyone is very helpful and will have your back. The softball team is a top-notch Pac-12 team."
Rylee, the daughter of Scott and Paula Maston, has one younger sister, Makayla. She enjoys soccer and off-road sporting in her free time. Matson will arrive on campus in the fall of 2017 and look to enroll in classes that will lead her to becoming a thoracic surgeon. Rylee chose ASU over Oregon, UCLA and Notre Dame. DeNae Chatman, Utility, Millennium High School
Chatman, a versatile utility player out of Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz., comes to ASU following back-to-back seasons of being named to Section Player of the Year. Last season Chatman earned All-Division First Team honors as well as All-Arizona First Team recognition.
Chatman says she chose ASU because it gave her the opportunity to play close to home and her family. "I have always wanted to be a Sun Devil," added Chatman.
Denae, the daughter of Lamar and Kelly Chatman, has one younger brother, LeeAron. Chatman will enroll to ASU in the fall of 2017 and take classes to help her pursue a career in dermatology. Chatman Chose ASU over Washington, Stanford, Georgia and Arizona.
Danielle "Gibby" Gibson, INF, Murrieta Valley High School
Gibson, an infielder from Murrietta, Calif., and Murrieta Valley High School, signed with ASU following her junior season where she led her team in RBIs and grand slams. Gibson earned Second Team All-League honors in just her first high school season and has since gone on to earn First Team recognition following her junior season.
Gibson was drawn to ASU because of her love of the school, as well as her relationship with current players and coaches. She hopes that under Ford's tutelage she will become a better all-around player.
Danielle, the daughter of Todd and Ruth Gibson, has two younger sisters, Allison and Katie. She will arrive on campus next fall and pursue classes in her interests of science and math. Gibson chose to come to ASU over Alabama, UCLA and Oklahoma.
