TEMPE Ariz.- Arizona State Softball remains unbeaten in fall play after an impressive win over Mesa Community College on Saturday afternoon at Farrington Stadium.

The Sun Devils were paced by their pitching staff who only gave up a combined total of two hits throughout the game.

"They have been working really hard and they're a fun group," head coach Trisha Ford said of the pitchers. "Dale Ryndak and Bree Macha are great students of the game. So, we've just been talking through some things, showing them things on film, but they're really the ones putting in all the work."

Offensively, ASU had a bit of a slow start but senior catcher Sashel Palacios put the Devils on the board in the third inning with an RBI double that brought in junior outfielder Nichole Chilson. The Devils fully ignited in the fifth inning where they had 10 hits that began with a solo homerun by freshman outfielder Brianna (Breezy) Wise.

"It's just getting them to trust their zone and being on time," Ford added. "I wanted to get them to understand that timing aspect. It's a game of adjustment and a game of failure so it's who can make that adjustment sooner."

Arizona State Softball will be back in action with a doubleheader on Nov. 5 hosting Yavapai College and South Mountain College. On Saturday, November 5th the ASU softball team is partnering with St. Mary's Food Bank to host a canned food drive. Fans are encouraged to bring canned good to be donated during the game.

All fall softball games at Farrington Stadium will be free to the public. Keep up with the team all season long by following Sun Devil Softball on the team's official Twitter page, @ASUSoftball.
