TEMPE, Ariz. – Graduate transfer Robbie Baillargeon's two goal night wasn't enough in game two against No. 13 Harvard, as the Sun Devils fell to the Crimson 6-2.

For the first time in the series, the Sun Devils (1-7-0) controlled a period, as head coach Greg Powers liked what he saw in the final 20 minutes on Saturday night at Oceanside Ice Arena.

"I was very proud of our effort and performance tonight, particularly in the second half of the game," said Powers. "I'm certainly not saying we should have beat them, but I was proud of how the guys finished."

Harvard (2-0-0) kept the Devils off the scoresheet for five of the six periods on the weekend thanks to another stellar performance from Crimson goaltender Merrick Madsen. The junior posted 24 saves on 26 shots, as ASU finally found the back of the net by grinding it out in front of the net.

"Robbie struggled last night against these guys, and I told him to simplify and play the right way," said Powers. "When you do that, you get rewarded."

The two goal performance was his second in the last four games, as he tallied two in game one against Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 21. He now has six goals and an assist in six games this season.

For the Crimson, senior Luke Esposito had quite an opening weekend against the Devils, tallying two goals and four assists in two games.

Special teams has been an emphasis by coach Powers, and while the success rate a week ago was the best it had been for ASU, the weekend featured an 0-for-11 drought on the power play.

From Friday to Saturday, Powers was pleased with the difference in effort brought to game two.

"If they carry that effort over into Friday night against Michigan, they're going to like the result," said Powers.

The Devils host No. 11 Michigan on Friday, Nov. 4 at Gila River Arena. Tickets are still available here.
