Provo, Utah – Several upperclassmen and newcomers carried over their strong performances from Friday while others stepped up to earn first-time wins as both sides earned wins in convincing fashion. The women's side defeated BYU, 189-107, while the men earned a similar margin of victory, 189-109.
"In general we had good energy and team spirit today," said Bob Bowman, head coach of the Devils. "The times were not great but there was progress made in several technical areas. I'm excited to get back to work next week."
Each team started strong, capturing the 200-yard medley relay titles while the two ASU women's relay squads finished 1-2.
ASU won a higher number of individual events in their second meet of the season, touching first in 20 of 24 (10 men's, 10 women's).
Alysha Bush once again performed well, earning a pair of wins in the 50 and 100-yard free while Chloe Isleta (200-yard back, 200-yard IM), Kendall Dawson (500 and 1000-yard free) and Kaya Philapil (100-yard and 200-yard breast) also touched first in multiple events for the women.
On the men's side, Zach Poti (100-yard back) and Cameron Craig (200-yard IM) earned their first career individual victories while Benjamin Olszewski (500 and 1000-yard free) earned multiple victories.
Mara Aiacoboae took first in both the women's 1 mtr and 3 mtr dives while David Hoffer earned a win in the men's 3 mtr dive to capture ASU's first dive victories of the season.
The Sun Devils return home for their regular season home opener vs. Denver next Saturday, Oct. 29 at 12 noon.
