STANFORD, Calif. - The Sun Devils had another strong start on day two but battled a tough course and windy conditions to end day two in a tie for sixth.
"We struggled a little today with various things," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "We were not able to get a good rhythm going. We will make a few adjustments and will be ready for a strong finish."
Freshman Olivia Mehaffey moved into the top 20 in a tie for 18th with four birdies on Saturday, two spots shy of Sophia Zeeb who leads the Sun Devil in a tie for 16th.
Linnea Strom and Monica Vaughn follow closely behind just outside the top-25 in a tie for 31st.
ASU is poised for a top three finish on Sunday, just two strokes behind Cal in third. Florida and USC are just one stroke ahead of the Devils in a tie for fourth.
On day three, the Sun Devils will tee off Sunday between 8:15 am and 8:51 am with Florida and USC.
