I liked the way we fought against Butler," head coach Stevie Mussie said. "It wasn't pretty but we figured out how to win that match. Against Iowa I thought we started well but didn't do a great job of closing and we have to learn how to finish! But with that said I was very proud of Caroline and how she played today."
In the win over Butler, junior libero Halle Harker recorded 17 digs, her 11th being the 1000th in her Sun Devil career. In the history of the program, she is the 19th Sun Devil to make the list. This also marks the third time this season that Harker posted 17 digs.
Senior outside hitter Cassidy Pickrell, junior middle blocker Oluoma Okaro, and sophomore Jasmine Koonts combined for 35 of ASU's kills, including a career high 10 for Koonts.
Okaro, Koonts, and fellow middle blocker Mmachi Nwoke each recorded six block assists. The mark matches career bests for Okaro and Koonts, and sets a new mark for the freshman Nwoke.
In the loss to the Hawkeyes, the fifth of Pickrell's eight kills marked the 1000th of her career. She came to ASU with 652 already on her record, and has 1003 so far.
