TEMPE, Ariz. – Season tickets for the Sun Devil soccer team's 2016 campaign are now on sale.
The Sun Devils will play 11 games at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium this season: 10 regular season contests and an exhibition game vs. Beijing Normal University on Sat., Aug., 27.
Included on ASU's home slate are five contests against teams that advanced to last season's NCAA Tournament: Cal State Fullerton (Fri., Sept. 16), USC (Sat., Oct. 15), California (Thurs., Oct. 27), Stanford (Sun., Oct. 30) and Arizona (Fri., Nov. 4). The contest against the Wildcats – the 2016 regular season finale – will be for a point in the annual Territorial Cup Series.
Season tickets start at $49 for general admission seating. By joining the Golden Goal Club (minimum $100 donation) fans will be able to watch Sun Devil soccer games from the best seats in Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in addition to enjoying exclusive member benefits.
Returning for the Sun Devils are 2015 Pac-12 Honorable Mention honorees Aly Moon and Madison Stark and 2015 assists leader Lucy Lara. Moon finished second on the team in goals and assists in 2015 and Stark has started all but one game in her first two seasons. Sun Devil Soccer also welcomes five incoming freshmen who will look to make an immediate impact.
Head Coach Kevin Boyd, the program's all-time winningest coach with 84 victories, begins his 10th season at the helm of the program. This season Boyd will look to lead the team to its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the past eight years. The program also continues to excel off the field under his guidance, as the program leads the Pac-12 in All-Academic First-Team awards (25) since 2007.
The Sun Devils kicked off preparations for the 2016 season on Aug. 3. They will travel to San Diego for an exhibition game on Friday and will open the regular season the following week when they travel to Boston for games at Boston University (Aug. 19) and Boston College (Aug. 21). ASU opens the home portion of its schedule on Fri., Aug. 26 when it hosts Loyola Chicago.
