TEMPE, Ariz. -- Four Arizona State swimming and diving student-athletes were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American team, and eight others made the honorable mention list.
Sophomore Mara Aiacoboae, junior Richard Bohus, sophomore Heikki Makikallio and senior Juan Tolosa were the four Sun Devils named to the list.
Aiacoboae also earned All-America honors for her performance at the NCAA Championships after placing third in the women's 10-meter platform.
Despite breaking his wrist in the fall of 2015, Bohus returned in the spring to earn an Athlete of the Week honor in February, break ASU records as an individual and as a part of the relay squad.
Makikallio made his first NCAA Championship appearance and placed 19th off the 10-meter platform.
In his final year as a Sun Devil, Tolosa made a big impact in the distance events and currently holds the 5th-best time in the 500-meter freestyle and 2nd-fastest in the 1000-meter freestyle.
The eight others who earned honorable mention included Alysha Bush, Jennifer Morgan, Kaya Philapil, Kat Simonovic, Sean Kao, Hunter Atha, Juan Jose Garcia Mesa and Josh Lamb.
To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets.
